I didn't like it.

Toji not revealing his relationship to Megumi before killing himself felt incredibly cheap. While the initial return and Dagon fights were cool it makes me question what was the point of bringing that character back. I think with Sukuna being a threat to everyone it would have been much better to have seen Toji intervene to save Megumi (even if doesn't have that tight relationship) and still perish to Sukuna... Instead we got that nothing scene. I'm anime only with the particular series, so maybe it will be explained or developed further later on but this reunion felt pointless as is.

I wanted to like the Sukuna vs Jogo fight, but the animation was whack. I know the simplified-abstract style they were going for, and I usually enjoy that style, but it felt way too simple looking in this episode... As if it were unfinished. Anyway, I was never a Jogo fan so I'm glad to see him gone. On the other hand why is that idiot that Nanami crushed a few episodes ago, back again? Is he indestructible? I'd rather have 10 Jogos running around instead of that guy. Most annoying character in the show.

An anime veteran here - I'm amazed! For the first time, it seemed to me that everything in a shonen anime episode was terribly well balanced - gradation, humor, intensity, sadness. I rarely come across something like this. Plus Sukana is sexy. :D

P.S. Why were some scenes darker than others (I mean like lighting)? I noticed it in previous episodes too.

Wow this was insane. Another 10/10 ep. An absolute feast on the eyes

Toji ends himself after recognising Megumi. How damn cool. Toji was a welcome cameo this arc I wonder if we’ll see him again

Sukuna being INSANE again this ep my goodness. Sorta glad Jogo is dead if I’m being honest

Thought Yuta showed up for a sec and I got so hype but I was wrong lol

Wth was that thing at the end??

I found some comments mentioning that due to the time slot and the guidelines for broadcasting the studios have to dim scenes to avoid causing seizures and the like (I think an episode of pokemon started all this, but I haven't researched further). I think it's totally unnecessary here, at least in this episode, it's too bad that crunchyroll has the same copy.

God damn this was hype. Everything about it from Toji and Megumi to Jogo and Sukuna's fight was just chef's kiss

Loved the scene when Jogo releases his Supreme Art and Sukuna decided, "Hey, let's play a game with these sorcerers on the other side of the prefecture". Just put me in awe with how he was just playing around acting like the Meteor was a toy.
Touch me, you filthy casual~

definitley one of the best episodes of al year from any anime. Emotion, action, twists and beutyfull animation come together for this, i actually think that i could show this one to someone who doesn't know anything about jjk and they would get it.
I read the manga, but i felt like i was watching these events for the first time.
This is what all anime adaptations should be, something that compliments and even elevates an existing story to make something unique.

Wait a minute...

@maynk02 I understand that you don't like the art/animation style. No, you're watching the official one.
I respect ur opinion, but "trash" is too harsh. Even tho the characters are very off model in few shots, the animation follows the principles of animation, unlike seven deadly sins 3 who has a very off model characters and didn't follow any principle of animation.

I am sorry to call it trash. Of course, it's not trash. But this was the big moment of this season and now it's kinda ruined. I am talking about E-16,17 (and probably 18). I really liked the animation style this season, especially when we think of star vessel arc fights. But this here shat on all of that. This seems like an unfinished edit, clearly visible to a technical (unbiased) eye. The color transition was basic, perspectives were off, and frames were missing in bunches. I could even see a bit of dialogue overlay at times, just to avoid motion in stills.

Indeed SDS was a consolidated trash, but we are talking about JJK here. Toho can give it to any of the welcoming studios. The animators won't have a choice if one studio has all the star titles. Every employee wants to add stars to their CVs and this is the final product--Something that people are raving about, just to show virtual support to the animators. I am afraid it's just gonna be worse for them as studios don't/won't care.

P.S. I seriously thought I watched a different version until I saw clips on YouTube, lol.

I've never been one to like long action sequences. Most people do and probably have been loving this, I wish I were you

But if any other person is similar to me and reading this, you ain't alone. Multiple episodes of pretty much pure fighting, with minimal talking scenes and the narrator popping in with forced exposition. I'm bored out of my head
If your favourite character is Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko, you are my soul mate.

Been a long time since I've been here, I'll continue expressing myself freely and believe everyone should too.

with so many good looking sequences, that's the one you choose to say is the most beautiful? The drawings are noticeably less detailed and even kinda blurry in that brief dark building sequence.

That is just the artstyle tho? It is done on purpose. It was so fucking smooth, you can not say it is ugly. Might as well call the whole mob psycho anime ugly just cuz it's less detailed.
And do not get me wrong i am not saying everything else was not great, this one was just unique af, something u would not expect in a jjk eps.

@MrElias Mob Psycho is quite ugly, yes, regardless of the stylistic choice being intentional or not - otherwise, an anime with stick people and very basic backgrounds would have to be seen as pretty, as long as it was smooth.

its fucking epic. sukuna vs jogo was so amazing. i knew tht sukuna was damn strong but here we can see his full potential. even jogo was shocked by how strong he is. to tht extent. damn.

the arts and animations was flawless and beautiful. even in the middle of fight scene, the backgrounds and details are not chaos like a fighting scenes in certain animes.

seeing this episode make me love sukuna more. his vision, the way he thinks. yes he a villain but he hates a weak perspective and a weak mindset. i respect him for that way of thinking.

for megumi and toji scenes, of course i'm in tears. this encounter is beautiful and painful at the same time. toji making sure that megumi are free from zenins then he can die in peace. on his last moment then he act like a father. :'(((

btw, cant wait for the NEXTTT EPISODE!!!

This season is pretty mid so far with this lackluster animation and art. It feels like MAPPA is not trying hard anymore like in the past. Their whole manpower gone to that mid CSM and result is here, a mediocre 2nd season of JJK. Now ppl will start to whine and will say MAPPA didnt had a time to deliver 2nd season, that is not a excuse, if you can't manage to deliver it, you must delay or abondon the project. With this pace MAPPA is becoming MADHOUSE 2.0 with their shit ton of animes to animete. Its no wonder the last director of JJK left the studio.
